This system is sufficiently known from thermal bathes and motorway service areas.

The advantages:

especially for families with children:
– take a seat first, without going through checkout.
– get food & drinks, as often you like.
– pay “free hands”, easy and fast, without cold food and stress.
– info-terminal to check your consumption.
– at checkout easily combine several cards onto one bill.

The downsides:

Technically there aren’t… Because…

– to enter the restaurant you just need, as at the skilift, your skipass, that of course you carry with you.
– should a skipass not be recognised, you can get a special “catering card” for the entry at the checkout (at the exit of the restaurant).
