DOUBLE-DECKER CABLEWAY

Double-Decker Cableway Samnaun was the first cableway in the world, which began two-storey cabins. The cabins each hold 180 people, including 114 people at the bottom and 65 people, and the cabin attendants, on the upper floor. A fully loaded cabin weighs 27 tons.

QUICK TO THE VERY TOP

The cable car takes you from the valley (1778 masl) in Samnaun-Ravaisch on three supports to the mountain station (2500 m above sea level) on the Alp Trida Sattel, where the entrance to the ski area is. The cableway has a sloping length of 2259 meters and overcomes a height difference of 722 meters. The aerial tramway has two track ropes with a diameter of 64 millimeters and a rope with 45 mm diameter.

BUILT IN ONLY 5 MONTHS

The cable car was built in 1995 in just five months and taken in the same year in operation.
